Here's a ShadowPlay file that will edit very smoothly in Vegas:Ĭomplete name : D:\SQUAD Videos RAW\Squad\Squad - 17.39.15.03.mp4 I'm not sure what bitrate Shadowplay records 3440x1440 at, but I'm guessing its far less than 182 Mbps. Its only actually "constant" if the resolution is also constant.Īlso, it would be interesting to see the media info for your Shadowplay files that work fine to confirm the above. The higher the resolution the higher the CRF or CQP can be for the same apparent "quality" on the actual video. Obviously you don't want to use too high or you'll impact quality, but test out how much higher you can go without noticing a quality drop.Īlso I should say that normally a CQP of 18 would be fine, but you're running 3440x1440 instead of the 1920x1080 that most people are running. Try using higher CQP (analogous to CRF) values than what you're using now. I had to suffer for that project but I tested and by keeping my CRF higher, Vegas worked better. It happened even when I put the files on my SSD. The files were huge and Vegas was choking on them. One time when I made a video in Vegas, I experimented with trying stupid-low CRF values for "quality reasons". Matrix coefficients : BT.470 System B, BT.470 System GĬlick to expand.Guessing that this is why (too much bitrate for Vegas to handle).

I'm sure I followed these settings to the letter when setting OBS up but I must have missed something?: Ĭomplete name : D:\OBS Videos RAW - Copy\ 16-51-11.mp4

I have an Nvidia GPU (EVGA 1080ti SC2 Hybrid) and an i7-7700k 5.0Ghz, 16GB RAM 3000MHz and all the trimmings so my PC is more than capable which is proven by how well it handles 60fps 3440x1440 130bit rate Shadowplay footage. I've obviously missed some setting somewhere that's making the footage difficult for Vegas to deal with.ģ0min OBS footage lags a LOT in Vegas even with preview set to the LOWEST quality, CPU usage hits 100%, editing is impossible as system just locks up.Ĥ0min ShadowPlay footage is smooth as silk in Vegas even with preview set to HIGHEST settings, CPU usage hits 50%, editing is super smooth, no issues. This is 100% an issue with the OBS footage as I can import ShadowPlay just fine.

I've just tried editing my first footage recorded with OBS but its damn near impossible as the preview screen in Vegas Pro is REALLY laggy and CPU usage jumps up to 100%
